The people of America's plain community value a life set apart from most modern conveniences that could lead to unhealthy influences. They choose to embrace and continue long standing traditions and values, and are known as honest, hard-working, and family oriented. All of these values are borne from their strong desire to honor God and obey scripture.
A Growing Population
A 2019 censes of the Anabaptist community in America by the Lancaster (Pa.) Mennonite Historical Society, showed a total of 604,000 adults within this community, although this number is likely much higher. The anabaptist movement has many different groups within it, but is predominantly made up of the Amish and Mennonite traditions.
Technology
Modern technology is often quite limited in the plain community. Services such as cell phones, internet, email, etc is only allowed in limited and very restricted forms.
